Batik projects and family

I’m working on a batik project that will be a birthday gift. I am using the Desert Rose collection from Island Batik that came out last fall but can still be found in quilt stores. The colors are so beautiful in this collection! I also used this group of fabrics last week for my Maggie’s First Dance block and I want to make sure I keep enough for the rest of the blocks.

Batiks for birthdayIt is a good thing I have a big cutting table so I can spread everything out. I even have some leftover blocks from my Desert Path table runners. This is the same Island Batik collection that I used for my Hopscotch quilt pattern.

This summer seems to be flying by! My quilts for Island Batik were mailed out the other day so I can relax and work on a few gifts I want to get done.

My daughter and grandson also took me to see Warcraft on Friday night. I really enjoyed it and it is hard to believe that I started playing that game…..over 20 years ago! Wow!

Before going to dinner and the movie, we took a few pictures….most of them were pretty silly. LOL

Save this for later!

I'll email you this post so you can come back to it later.

Don't worry, I promise not to spam you.

Xander and me photoI really like this photo of my daughter and grandson and I uploaded it to CanvasOnDemand.com and can’t wait to see how it turns out. My neighbor just have some photos done by them from pictures on his phone and I couldn’t believe the quality. As soon as I get my prints I’ll share them.

You might want to check them out and then wait until June 30th…..when they will have a 50% sale!

My computer is running slow…..I mean like it is really bogged done so it is time to do some computer cleaning. I’ve been doing my backups but I think it is time to remove some of my files from my laptop. I have a 1.5 terabyte EHD and it might be time to get another one to backup that one.

  3. The Desert Rose was one of my favorite collections of Batiks. I can’t wait to see what you’re cooking up this time. Love the pictures. They all look great. I’ve considered having a few canvas picture made myself, but haven’t done it yet. I’ve seen some and they really are awesome.

  4. Your daughter looks a lot like you! Very pretty quilt, I always figure my quilts aren’t done until they are ‘Approved’ by one of the cats.

  5. Beautiful family! Love your site…you have so much going on!
