Last January I needed to print out a couple quilt labels and didn’t want to waste the rest of the printable fabric sheet so I decided to print out some graphics of cute animals that I had. I resized them so I could get 2 on the page with the quilt labels and then decided to print another page of them so I could make a quilt.
Aren’t they cute little animals!
This is as far as I got in January and then I got busy with other projects…..like the extra butterfly blocks from my scrappy butterfly quilt tutorial. I am so glad I finally finished it.
I mentioned the other day that I get a lot of my graphics from Creative Market. This little set of Cute Animals came from there. There are actually 12 different animals and some other goodies in the set.
This cute little alligator looks sweet even before the quilting. I like to use a Bright White printer fabric that I can run through my inkjet printer. My favorite brand is June Taylor Sew-in Sheets. The bright white cotton fabric really lets the bright colors of the animals show. You heat set them afterwards with your iron..
I’m not sure what this little fella is but he is sure cute and I love the flowers he is holding onto!I dug through my stash and pulled out some of my brown batiks and cut them into 1½” strips and sewed rows around the blocks in a log-cabin type of pattern.
Next I added a 2½” sashing of a cream batik to finish off the wall hanging. Isn’t this cute! I should make a couple pillow with some of the other cute animals.
I have to show you a closeup of the rest of the cute little animals! Look at the eyes on the owl!
I think this one is a rabbit….what do you think?
and the giraffe!

Each week Creative Market offers 6 free downloads and I usually grab them too. The Hand drawn nature & plant doodles are free this week – here is one I recolored in Photoshop. Do you enjoy working with graphics? I can lose hours doing this!
