Have you seen the new quilt book called Stash Statement by Kelly Young? It will help you tame all of those fabric scraps you have. All of the quilts in her book are Improv quilts which simply means piecing without a plan.
I don’t know about you but that is my kind of piecing!! There is no right or wrong way to do it!
Blog Hop coming soon!
Kelly’s book Stash Statement has 12 beautiful quilt patterns in it and you’ll get to see all of them made up by other quilters during the blog hop that will begin on April 16th. I’ll actually be sharing my Grand Bazaar quilt that day but I just wanted to let you know that her book is now available.
Kelly blogs at My Quilt Infatuation, be sure and visit her!
You’ll definitely want to read the Tips & Techniques section of the book before you begin as this is where the magic begins. Once you start creating fabric from your scraps I know you’ll be like me and come up with all kinds of neat projects you’ll want to make.
It has become a challenge for me to get Sadie to pose on quilts for pictures. I wanted to share a sneak peek at my quilt made from Kelly’s book. The quilt is all bunched up because I put Sadie’s bed underneath thinking it would help with photos. Nope, she still wouldn’t look at me. Don’t worry Sadie, I don’t like my picture taken either!
Take a look at a couple of the beautiful quilts that Kelly shares in her book.
You will learn three methods for sewing together rectangles, squares, strips, and even the tiniest fabric scraps to create new yardage; then use the resulting scrappy fabrics in a dozen dazzling step-by-step quilt patterns.
