All of the Island Batik Ambassadors have been going crazy waiting for their 1st Island Batik Ambassador Box of 2018 to get here. The products featured in this post were given to me by Island Batik. Thank you Island Batik!

2018 Ambassador Box1

We get to track our box and this year we found out the box weighed 22 pounds! That is a lot of goodies! We have been getting snow here in Iowa so I had Builder Bob on watch for my box and he brought it into my quilt studio as soon as it got here.  I couldn’t wait to open it!

Take a peek at what was in the Island Batik Ambassador box.  Lots of batiks, a beautiful rayon scarf, rayon fabric, my favorite Aurifil thread, and 2 different packages of quilt batting! There was also a surprise bundle that we can’t share just yet. Yes….I took a peek right away!

Keep reading and I’ll share closeups of all the goodies in the Island Batik 2018 Ambassador box.

It is hard to believe that I received my first Island Batik Ambassador box in March 2014!

Island Batik Ambassador

I was part of the first group and I believe there were 15 of us. In 2018 there are 45 Island Batik Ambassadors!

This is my 8th box as an ambassador and the boxes just keep getting better and better!

Okay, let’s back to looking a little closer at what is in the box! Beautiful bright colors are perfect for spring! This is the Island Batik Paisley Dot Brights strip pack and 2 coordinating fabrics.

Another collection that makes me think of summer! This is a fat eighth bundle of Southern Blooms and coordinating fabrics. I can’t wait to open this bundle!

Island Batik Southern Blooms Fat Eighths batiks

This fat quarter bundle will be used for my Galentine’s Day project. You know I love making mug rugs! I’d better get to work on this project right away!

This is a perfect bundle of basic batiks that I’ll be able to use in a couple of projects!
Neutrals……a quilter can never have enough of them!

3 yards of Vanilla batik will really come in handy. There was also a 2-yard piece of rayon that I’ll be able to make a blouse with. I also received a beautiful blue rayon scarf that I’ll have to model for you.

Thread….there is nothing better than Aurifil! I received a large cone of white Aurifil thread and 6 other smaller spools.

All of the ambassadors received the large cone of white but we all got different colors of the smaller Aurifil spools. I think I figured out how Island Batik decided which colors to send each ambassador….my colors match my secret bundle!

I also received one package of 5″ strips of assorted batiks, there are 2.8 yards in it!

Last but not least, I received batting! I usually buy Hobbs 80/20 batting so I can’t wait to try their Premium Cotton Batting. We also received a Hobbs queen size ultra-thin Thermore batting. I have heard very good things about this batting and it will be fun to use it.

I want to thank Island Batik for sending me all of these goodies. I’ll be sharing projects, quilts, and tutorials each month as an Island Batik ambassador.
