Most of you know how much I enjoy working with batiks and once again, I applied to Island Batik to be a ambassador in 2018. Wish me luck! Our project for December was to use Island Batik scraps to make a table topper. When I was decorating for Christmas I didn’t find any Christmas bath runners…..I must have given them away. Now was a perfect time to make a couple more.
My little table runners are just 8 x 16 inches and fit perfectly on the back of our toilets.
I keep all of my Island Batik fabrics in IKEA storage containers. I also use them to support my ironing surface.
Here is my basket of leftover Island Batik Christmas fabrics. I just love going through them!
It is so much fun to mix and match Christmas fabrics and projects, I made this tree skirt about 20 years ago!I used a red Aurifil thread to do my freemotion quilting. It has been a while since I quilted feathers. I drew the stem to help me figure out where the feather was going.
Then I made another Christmas batik bathrunner and used a green Aurifil thread for the quilting.
Notice how I change the way I used the red and green in my log cabin blocks?
