Happy Valentine’s Day and Linky Tuesday
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you have a wonderful day and please join Linky Tuesday! Are you going out to dinner or doing something fun? I’m sure the restaurants will be packed so we may wait a day or two. Since Builder Bob is also “Chef Bob” I won’t be cooking!Yesterday was Galentine’s Day and I shared a tutorial for a Skinny Strip Mug Rug if you missed it. Isn’t that the cutest little cup! I like to go to Dollar Tree and pick up things like that for the holidays, how can you beat the price, I even got the little teddy bear from there and have bought them before to put in my little sleeping bags for gifts!
It was so much fun to work with my new batiks from Island Batik and create a couple new fabric baskets. Have you ever made any? I have a super easy tutorial with plenty of pictures. It helps to use a denim needle when sewing the corners…..lots of thickness so just go slow.
You’ll want to start with this fabric basket tutorial first as I have lots of photos showing each step. Then you may want to check out my post where I give a bit more information on how I do the sides of the baskets and show the basket two different ways. I continue to experiment and try different sizes all the time…..I bet I will share baskets for St. Patricks Day also!
Each batik basket was made just a little bit differently. Read the directions in my tutorial and then choose one of the sizes below for your basket.
Sizes of my Valentine’s Day fabric baskets.
- 16″ fabric squares with 2 ½” corners
- 14″ fabric squares with 2 ½” corners
- 14″ fabric squares with 2″ corners
I even have one more mug rug I’ll be sharing later this week! Would you believe I made the crazy heart block a couple years ago and only turned it into a mug rug…….this past week!
