Welcome to another Linky Tuesday at Freemotion by the River!
I have to show you a photo of Sadie that I shared on Facebook the other day. She had just came home from the groomer and of course I was trying to get pictures of her – she really wasn’t interested! What a clown!
I recently showed the placemats and table topper that were my January UFO and I have been working on the tutorial to share with you. In fact that is what I spent most of Sunday doing. There is nothing hard about the pattern – I was just trying to figure out why I made the blocks the size that I did. After some experiments…..I have a bunch of new orphan blocks!
I had to get into my Island Batik goodies stash for the fabrics, I figure if I’m going to make odd sized blocks I might as well make them from beautiful fabrics. I’ll share the tutorial soon – I had to laugh though because it wasn’t until after I had made ALL but the last of these blocks that I figured out why my placemats had the half square triangle blocks the size that they were. I used the leftovers from another project! When I do the tutorial I’ll show you how to use a basic ruler to make the blocks instead of a specialty one – of course you know I seem to buy just about every specialty ruler there is!
I have a feeling I never finished the tablerunner from the original blocks……that surprised me because I thought I looked through everything when I pulled things out for my 2017 UFO challenge. It is scary to think I have more UFOs somewhere!
I have been doing a lot of work on my website trying to clean up old posts and make it easier for you to find your way around plus updating photos, I enjoy doing this and have to remind myself to stop – and get quilting!
Okay, one more photo of Sadie and you can see who was featured from last week and also add your link this week! Thanks for stopping by!
Notice she won’t look at me……Share your quilts, pictures, recipes or other posts with everyone!
If you have a giveaway – feel free to post it.
Last week Missy from Missy’s Homemaking Adventures shared this tip about threading the needle on your vintage machines – “You know which side to thread the needle on, according to which side the thread guide is on. If it’s on the right, thread from the right, if it’s on the left, thread from the left.”
She also has a Lori Holt Seams Sew Easy Guide on her Featherweight! I wondered how it would work on the old black sewing machines…..I may have to get one for my Featherweight or for my 15-91 Singer.
I have several vintage sewing machines and I usually place a stick it on them to remind me. It definitely makes a difference!Anne Marie from Anne Maries HaakBlog has a tutorial for these adorable little owls! I may not be able to knit but I can crochet! Sure wish little Sadie liked toys.
