Today I am taking part in the Holiday Wishes blog hop put on by Fat Quarter Shop which will run for the next 4 Wednesdays in July. July is a great time to start working on holiday gifts or projects for decorating your home for the holidays.
Holiday Wishes by Sherri Falls of This & That Pattern Company is available from Fat Quarter Shop, it includes 12 quilts for a homemade holiday. Each pattern is shown in full color and you will also find full color diagrams to help you in each step of making your quilt.
I received the book from Fat Quarter Shop and chose to make the Blizzard Table Topper. The table topper is actually made of 4 blocks and measures 36″ x 36″. I decided to just make one of the blocks for my first table topper.
This is a perfect size for our table and I am also thinking that 3 of the blocks would make a beautiful Christmas table runner. That is what I will probably make with some of the new Christmas and Winter themed fabrics at Fat Quarter Shop.
The patterns in Sherri’s book Holiday Wishes are very easy to follow. I used some batiks for my sample. Be sure and checkout Fat Quarter Shop’s Precuts of the Week, it is a great way to add to your stash!
This will give you a idea of how the table topper looks done in a 18″ x 18″ size. I think making the Blizzard tabletopper full size would also be beautiful for a wall hanging.
