Summer Tote Bag
I finished up a new tote bag in summer colors but it will soon be time for fall colors! Our weather was absolutely beautiful yesterday, no humidity and a breeze. I worked out in the yard in the morning and then in the afternoon I asked Builder Bob to take a couple pictures of me with my new tote.
I always enjoy trying out a new pattern for a tote bag and this just might be my favorite size. I used the McCall pattern M7171.
Of course I had to make a few changes……there wasn’t a pocket on the outside and I always want at least one of those.
There weren’t any pockets on the inside so…..I added a couple. I also quilted the bag and also the lining.
I normally don’t do separate sides but these turned out cute and the facing on the lining was neat.
The pattern didn’t call for a zipper, instead you used magnetic clips as you can see in the photo.
This is a great size to hold a couple books and even a project or two.
I forgot to mention that the fabric is a stripe print…..I think I bought both of the fabrics for a baby quilt….but I forgot that until after I had cut out the tote. I just straight stitched along the stripes to attach my batting.
