Applique Flowers in Full Bloom

I am dreaming of Spring……while looking out the window at the ice which is covering the deck and steps. Hopefully we are getting close to the end of winter……..I knew we shouldn’t have put the shovel away! I’ve been working on a few flower blocks and I can’t wait to start appliqueing them.

I’m using the beautiful Full Bloom batiks by Fourth and Sixth Design for Island Batik and for the block backgrounds I used Island Batik Neutrals. I will have another project coming up in April for a blog hop and I’ll be using Full Bloom for it.

Here is a closeup of the block.

Here is the first block I made up for the AccuQuilt 2015 Quilt Block Design contest. Now I am playing with different backgrounds.

You can vote for each entry every day……if you like 15 blocks…vote for all of them! This year you don’t have to sign up with AccuQuilt to vote so I hope you’ll vote.

Blooming Piano Keys Table Runner

Tablerunner for Spring

Here is something else I am working on this week. In January I did a review of Scrappy Fat Quarter Quilts – Favorite projects from Fons & Porter and decided to make 2 samples. One was Barbed Wire (ready to quilt) and the other was called Trail Marker. I have so many different projects going on that I decided to make a few more Trail Marker blocks and just make a table runner.

I think the pattern is really neat and I love the fabrics but I don’t want it to become a UFO.
