I finished up the mini quilt that I showed you here and the stars look perfect along the river. I had used the last of my Quilted in Honor fabrics by Island Batik and made up the binding just to make sure I had enough. Would you believe this quilt is only 15 inches square! Lots of little pieces.
Have you ever tried the Clover Wonder Clips? I bought one pack and then bought another (one isn’t enough) and have to admit that I really like using them. I always sew my binding on by machine and it is so easy to unclip them.
Here I am sewing on the binding on my 15-91 Singer, the same machine that I use for piecing and free-motion quilting.
Here is a quick look at the back and the quilting. I used my Glide ivory thread on the front and back. I’m going to have to buy more of that soon!
If it wasn’t for the deck boards you wouldn’t know this quilt was really only 15 inches square!
Recently Electric Quilt had a contest in which we designed a quilt in EQ using Island Batik’s Quilted in Honor fabrics. I didn’t win but……if you have Electric Quilt you can download all of the designs that were entered for free! Just click here. My design is actually on page 2. My challenge now is to actually make the design!
Last night the weather was beautiful and it was a perfect night for burgers on the grill. The grill is just about shot and we are hoping to make it through the rest of the year. Then it will be time to buy a new one…..hopefully on sale.
