This is a narrow batik runner that I made to fit the bar Builder Bob made in the basement.
This was actually a top corner cabinet and book shelves that matched the cabinets he put in my quilt room. If you missed that post you can see it here. I ran out of space there and we didn’t want to get rid of them so he cut down the height of the book shelves; attached it to the corner cabinet and then built a top for it.
Now we have a liquor cabinet and a place for his CD’s. It also nicely filled up this space. We call the deer Bambi and bought it at a Ducks Unlimited auction a couple years ago.
The runner is only 9 inch wide and 31 inches long. Very simple, I just cut 2 1/2 inch strips of batiks 9 inches long and sewed them together until I got a length I liked. I then added a backing and warm & natural batting. I did the free motion wiggle on my 15-91 Singer. Nothing like a fast & easy project to make sure everything is working fine on my sewing machine!
