No I don’t have a quilt shop…….although I do have a lot of fabric!! Yesterday we went to the longarm meeting and then to the Nolting Longarm open house which was fun! I also met a fellow blogger, Linda Duncan from L & R Quilting who has a longarm and does quilting professionally. I picked up a spool of Glide thread which I have been wanting to try as I have heard great things about it.
After the open house we hit a few quilt store including……Connie’s Quilt Shop in Marion, Iowa. It was a fun day!
Today I wanted to do a little update on how I have been doing with my FitBit. I have been using it and the video for 30 days now. My first post about it was June 29th. My goal was to walk 10,000 steps a day and log what I was eating so hopefully I could loose some weight. I am happy to say I have hit over 10,000 steps every day and I have lost between 4 and 5 pounds. My knee is better and I feel great!
The Fitbit keeps me motivated to get my steps in each day and my Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds DVD has been a fun way to get the steps in and also some low impact exercise. Some days I do one mile, others 2 miles or 3 miles and just a couple of times I have done the 4 mile walk. I know without doing the Walk Away DVD I probably wouldn’t get my steps in and I am also doing some exercises for my arms and waist. You can do a search on YouTube for her videos so you can see what they are like and it is also available at Walmart.
Here are my stats on FitBit for yesterday. You can see that I didn’t drink enough water and I ate more than I should have – but I got my steps in!
Something else I have learned……..I usually get up; drink a cup or two of coffee; eat a yogurt with 2 tablespoons of Flaxmeal in it; and drink a large glass of water before doing the Walk Away the Pounds. Several times the DVD has been exhausting for me and I have realized it is the times that I don’t eat and drink before doing it.
Also by honestly entering the foods I have eaten I am realizing that……I eat too much and those 2 glasses of wine at night are added calories so…..I try and burn more calories and also watch what I eat a little better.
Do you know that when I had Pelly I was getting in about 15,000 steps a day! That was all the times I had to check on him when I heard a car or……he got hungry.
