Amber Logs is a 48 x 48 inch quilt that I made using log cabin blocks.
One of my first quilts….and only hand quilted one…..was a log cabin quilt. The blocks in this quilt are called off-center log cabin and many times they are paper pieced. I just designed it in Electric Quilt and then cut my strips and sewed my blocks.
It is so nice to have the river back to normal and…..my bell dry for pictures of quilts! I still had to be very careful as the water is still up to the wall and I didn’t want to loose my quilt.
I love, love being an ambassador for Island Batik and the colors in the Amber Ale collection are beautiful! I knew right away what I wanted to make with this bundle!
This is the first time I received a batik that had metallic accents and the neat surprise was realizing I actually had the look of 2 different fabrics! One side has the metallic and the other is plain. I used the plain batik side for the center of my blocks.
Here you can see 4 of the blocks put together.
I will have the pattern for this quilt finished soon. I have been busy working on 2 quilts and patterns that will go to Fall Market which is really exciting!
