Roll, Roll Cotton Boll is a flimsy!

Roll, Roll Cotton Boll is a flimsy!

I spent most of yesterday finishing up the border on my Roll, Roll Cotton Boll mystery quilt! I am so tickled to have this done, can you believe I started this quilt in November of 2010?

Roll, Roll Cotton Boll is a flimsy

I couldn’t wait to take it outside and lay it in the grass, thankfully we didn’t have much wind. I wasn’t sure when I would get around to quilting this so I stay stitched along the edge to keep it from falling apart. Now I’m thinking maybe I should just start quilting it and get it finished.

I had two blocks completed that I didn’t use and lots of the two inch squares so I made a couple pillow blocks, (only showing one).

Then I decided to use up some more of the two inch blocks and a couple string blocks. I always have lots of them on hand. When the quilt is quilted and the other two pillow are made I just might add some applique to the center of this. It sure feels good to have this quilt top finally completed.

Tomorrow I will share the second QAL (quilt along) that I ever started and……never finished. I think it is a story you might enjoy.

Love your RRCB. Congratulations on your finish. Mine is still in a tub, patiently waiting to be finished.

Absolutely beautiful, bet you are sorry you have left it for so long. I would quilt it right away so you could have it totally finished. I went to craftsy's sale and could not find the Anthology Story Strips for $9.99. Was it just a one day sale?

Beautiful quilt Connie! I really love your borders on this one. Great job! I can sense the relief in finishing this one from your post. lol If someone mentioned using all those squares along with a string block, I'd almost wonder if it would be really 'busy' looking, but nope, yours look just amazing. I just love coming to see what you've done next.

Oh I forgot to thank you for reminding me about the great sale right now at Craftsy! (did you sense the sarcasm there? lol) I've been attempting to ignore this sale, but it's haunting me on so many blogs right now and their emails also of course. I'm starting to weaken and may have to break down. I'm not one to be strong when there's a sale like they are having. You could pretty much guess that if you saw my sewing room right now which is STILL a mess. For lack of a better term; I'm landlocked and can't move. lol I don't NEED more fabric or anything seriously. BUT…………it's sooooooooo pretty.

Another beautiful Bonnie Hunter classic. You seem to have the magic touch with her designs, as they always turn out wonderfully.

I hope you are not on the computer but you are too busy at the machine getting that quilt quilted. Ha Your flimsy looks good, now get it done. I still have just blocks for RRCB so I should not tell you what to do. Ha

Oh, I think you need to load that right on your frame and quilt it! Believe it or not – I picked up some Batiks during the last big sale at Connecting Threads.

Do you have any good patterns for jelly rolls/strips? I have one or two of the anthology packs, not sure what I'll make yet
