I have been cleaning and organizing in my quilt room and you know what that means……I find old projects. I love this quilt with all the strings…..why haven’t I finished it!
Bonnie Hunter’s pattern Roll,Roll, Cotton Boll was my first mystery
quilt and…..so far, the only one I haven’t finished so I’m working on
it again. If you didn’t do the mystery quilt you can find the pattern in
her book –
String Fling: Scrappy, Happy and Loving It!
I remember working on it and when I got to the last clue which was the border I decided I didn’t really care for it so I put it away and worked on something else. I had all the little blocks pieced for the border and just needed to add the little brown HSTs.
I didn’t make mine as big as the pattern – I did 4 blocks by 4 blocks. I had a couple extra blocks that I will use for pillows and I still had a couple pieces of the same brown so I started cutting out the little HSTs.
Then I started putting the border together.
I still have to add a small green border before I attach the pieced border but I will have to figure out the correct size since my quilt is smaller than the pattern. My goal is just to get the quilt top all pieced, maybe today I’ll get that part finished!
