I am very happy to let you know that I had a lot more fun doing the trunk show for the Friendship Quilters in Elizabeth, IL than I thought I would and thank you so much for all the sweet comments that everyone left the other day!!
This was taken after my presentation, my big smile is one of relief……I did it!
Barb Jansz on the left is the president of the guild and she is the one who invited me and also encouraged me to do this. Thank you Barb! Rita Wadman is on the right and we got to stay at her beautiful B & B called Hellman House.
The view was wonderful and our beautiful room was the Hellman Master Suite. Rita also fixed us a great breakfast. The photos below are from her website. Thank you Rita!
There was a Shot & Tell before my presentation and I took a few photos, I would have loved to share everyone’s work as they were all wonderful.
Monica showed this beautiful quilt she made……look at all the small blocks!
Joy showed this beautiful Christmas quilt that she just finished piecing.
My daughter Kimberly went with me and took pictures. I took 6 big bags of quilts!
Once I got started it really was fun to do and it looks like I talk with my hands…..a lot!
Many of the photos were blurred……I have a feeling I move too much also.
This was taken at the end of my trunk show, Barb was so sweet and everyone at the guild was very friendly.
The next day we spent time shopping in downtown Galena, IL.
What does any quilter do when they visit a new town…..stop at the quilt store. We picked up a few goodies at Phat Quarters. I have been wanting to make something with the chalkboard fabric for the grand-kids so I bought 3 pieces of it and Kimberly found a spiral table-runner that she wants so she bought some fabrics and I picked up the 10 degree ruler. The pattern will be mailed to me.
Thank you so much Kimberly for going with me!
Hi Connie. Kimberly took some great photos and I so enjoyed reading the summary of your visit to Galena and Elizabeth. You were a hit and we were the lucky ones to experience your first trunk show.
What fun! I wish I could have been there.
I knew that you would do a great job! It was really great that your beautiful daughter Kimberly went went you. I have a brother named Kimberly! Hellman House is a beautiful Bed & Breakfast. You make beautiful quilts and quilters just love looking at other people quilts!
Congratulations on a job well done! Of course, we all knew you would do great!!! So sweet of your daughter to go with you and lend her love and support! That looks like such a nice place to stay 🙂 And the folks look just as nice!
Oh, Connie… This is such a delightful post! Looks like you did have a great time. How could you not? The B&B is beautiful! And the guild show must have been a blast once the initial fear factor dissipated! Loved seeing that barn quilt…. It's one of my faves. Your daughter is sure a pretty girl!!!
I'm sure you did a great job and I would have loved to see all your quilts in person! I have been enjoying your work through your blog for several years now and always love to see what you have been up to!
How fun was that!! And of course your quilts are beautiful as usual. Glad you had a good time! 🙂
Looks like everyone had fun! And I've been wanting one of those wedge rulers for quite a while now. Almost purchased one at one time, but other expenses got in the way. Can't wait to see what you create with it.
Connie,
You LOOK very calm, cool and collected in all of the pictures. Great job!
Everything looks like it turned out fabulous! You look great, and a fun time was had by all, and love the show and tell.
Connie, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog! Yours is one I read eagerly.
I'm so glad for you that the trunk show went well.
I do like your typo–at least I hope it was a typo–"shot and tell." Gives a real different meaning! I can't help it, I'm a word freak, and love the irony of the mistakes *I* make.

You look beautiful and so happy!! Congrats on your first of many trunk shows!!
How wonderful! I know the ladies had to be thrilled with your trunk show. Congrats. Did you notice in one of the pictures – Jesus was with you?
What a fun time it looks like you, and EVERYBODY had! I wish I could have seen all of your quilts in person! Your daughter looks a lot like you!
How wonderful to see your quilt trunk show photos. Beautiful B&B you were treated to. What a lovely sharing of fabric and the love of sewing. Your daughter is beautiful and very sweet to accompany you and take pics. Creative Trunk Show Bliss Dear…

I knew you would have fun. Why wouldn't you? You make beautiful quilts and other quilters love looking at quilts … piece of cake!!
How wonderful was that? I LOVE Galena, such a great place. It looks like you were a great hit with your first trunk show. What beautiful quilts you had to share. And what a gorgeous daughter! How nice was that to have her go with you and take pictures.
I had no doubt you would be fabulous Connie. I am very glad you had a good time. And once again you have proven again how much alike you and I are. I have been wanting to make placemats for my oldest grandchild for a number of years now and now I have 3 grandchildren. I'm thinking maybe for this next Christmas I'll maybe make one for each of them so they can play at the table. And that 10 degree ruler is another item on my wish list as well. How funny.
Ta da! Good for you for having such a fun time at your trunk show!
YOU were the feature!??? how cool!! wish there were pics of YOU in these showing your awesome quilts!
So glad everything went well, I was sure it would! Congratulations on your first trunk show!!!
Told ya! Trunk shows always go well because we all love to look at quilts and hear the stories behind them. Lovely B&B. I'm putting it on my bucket list.
