Last Friday I reviewed Cute Quilts For Kids and one of the quilts was called Anchors Aweigh and this cute little sailboat was shown in each corner. I wanted to try out a pattern but didn’t have time for a whole quilt. I made the boat and then decided to turn it into a pillow. This will make a great Christmas gift for one of the boaters in the family.
I will be linking this to SewCalGal’s A Handmade Christmas Challenge
I used a zipper on this pillow. Sometimes I use a zipper…..other time I do the flap, it usually depends on how much fabric I have.
Most of the quilts in the book have some type of 3-dimensional parts and you can see that the sails on the boat aren’t completely attached. I think this is so cute!
If it was a little warmer I would hop in Builder Bob’s boat and sail down river to give Kevin the Quilter the blocks I have made for him…..since it is freezing I’ll just mail them!
Don’t forget I still have a giveaway going on through Saturday if you haven’t entered.
Are you visiting Inspired by Fabric every day – there are 9 different blocks in the hop and don’t forget the giveaway! You have 9 chances to win one of 3 bundles of Marblehead Venetian Glass by Ro Gregg for Fabri-Quilt. Just visit Inspired by Fabric and leave a comment each day of the hop.
