When I made my Broken Herringbone blocks there was a lot of leftovers. I’m not going to waste my beautiful batiks so…..I made mug rugs…..lots of mug rugs.
I just start putting the leftover pieces together and keep adding until I get a size I like. Usually 6 x 9 is a good size. It takes longer to put the binding on!

I thought that was an appropriate title for how I’m feeling at the moment. I had blood work done last week and got the results back which showed my Vitamin D has improved but…..I will be visiting my doctor today as I have Hypothyroidism – an under active thyroid.
I have gained over 30 pounds in the last 8 months even with exercise and trying to watch what I eat. I kept telling my doctor I felt like I was gaining a pound a day. I have also been tired and depressed, which if you have never had a weight problem and all of a sudden do…..that is depressing. For quite some time my joints have ached….I just figured it was….getting old. These are all symptoms of Hypothyroidism.
I have started a medication and have a list of questions for my doctor that I will see today. I’m not happy to have this but I am thrilled to find out what some of the weight gain is from and that I can lose it.
Here is a funny……for 8 months I have been eating radishes like crazy…..probably 4 bunches a week. They are a no-no, so is raw cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower…..all the things I have been eating to try and lose weight, they all cause bloating. Wish me luck in losing some weight!
