Today Bonnie Hunter posted part one of the Celtic Solstice Mystery quilt. Are you going to take part in this? You can find it here.
Her mystery quilts are always fun and I honestly haven’t done one that I didn’t like when it was finished. The very first one I did was Roll, Roll Cotton Boll and…..I still don’t have it finished. I do have 5 other ones done though. All I need to do is put on the borders and quilt it. I’m going to put that UFO on the top of my bucket list!
Daydreaming and quilting……sometimes that combination just doesn’t work for me! I’m sewing along chain stitching the first units then started pressing them and all of a sudden I’m realizing they don’t look right. Thanks goodness I always have my seam ripper handy!
Here you can see it a little better.
I decided that I’m going to try and make this quilt with all scraps and fabrics I already have. My blues are a mix of navy and country blues. So far I only have a few of the units done with the orange and mine are actually more of a peach. I’m okay with that. Each little clipped bundle is 10 so I have 40 of the natural centers and 20 of the orange done. I need 92 of the blue/natural and 96 of the blue/orange. I’m planning on making the smaller sized quilt this time.
