It is hard to believe it is almost the end of the month! A couple weeks ago I showed how I was doing working on my UFO. I had finished the quilting and just needed to pick a binding and get that on. I’m happy to say it is all done and……I have matching pillows!
This is another batik quilt and I love the soft colors in it. I have actually had the pillows done since the first of the month. They were made from the leftover half square triangle snips. I had teeny tiny 1 3/4 inch pieces that I squared up and used……I just hate to throw those little pieces away.
I ended up using the same brown batik that was in the first border for the binding. I don’t know if you can see but the backing is a tan swirl fabric. This was quilted on my vintage 15-91 Singer and I just did a medium sized meandering. The batting is Warm & Natural.
My binding was put on by machine, I first stitched it to the back and then top-stitched it on the front. As I have said before I just don’t do much hand stitching anymore and I know that this binding will really hold up with multiple washings.
My quilt has already been washed and dried for that soft, crinkly feeling. The finished size is 42 x 52.
