I didn’t get too much quilting done over the long weekend but I sure had a lot of fun with all the family that was here. I did get a bunch of blocks pieced for a very easy, easy quilt. I had a layer cake of City Weekend by Liesl Gibson for oliver + s by Moda that I bought over a year ago and could never decide what to make with it.
I remembered seeing a video at Missouri Star Quilt Co. called Falling Charms and I thought it would be perfect for a couple of quick quilts for my grand-daughters. I have a feeling I bought this layer cake from Missouri Star Quilt Co. as one of their daily deals.
I cut the layer cake into 5 inch squares so now I have 4 charm packs and I also cut my muslin into 2 1/2 inch strips instead of using a jelly roll.
I have put a couple rows together to get an idea of how big I want the quilts to be. The girls have bunk beds so I think quilts that are about 52 inches wide might work. I may add a border if I want them wider. I have all the blocks made……now to see how many rows I’ll get for each quilt!
