Here are some neat hubcap flowers that my sister-in-law just finished. Retirement is turning her into a craftsy person……..hmmmm…..maybe I can get her quilting next winter!
Back to the hubcaps! She saw something on Pinterest about them and proceeded to see if she could find some hubcaps. Several came from my dad’s shop and the rest were either found in ditches or some friends found them for her. She actually wrote on the back of each one where it was found.
She scrubbed off each hubcap and then painted them several times.
Notice the “rays” on this sun hubcap…..
Before painting it she added all kinds of plastic ties…..don’t they look neat all painted!
Green jewels from the Dollar Store add so much to this one!
Sponge painting…..each one looks so different. She used wood that was found along the river for the stems. The leaves are plastic pieces but we were both talking about finding some pieces of drift wood and painting bigger leaves on them. That would look neat!
Here are my yellow blocks for this months Rainbow Scrap Challenge. This is the crossroads pattern and you can always find the tutorial here.
