Some projects really need to be moved off of my design wall. I
have had lots of little 1-1/2 inch squares so I pieced this fun design using scraps. This piece is actually only 16 x 24 inches……I just don’t see a full size quilt……maybe a table runner. This is always a fun and very easy design.
Here is another quilt I am working on…originally I was doing a design that I saw at Missouri Star Quilt Co. and like so many of us….I made some changes. I really like it, now I have to decide how big I want to make it.
My June UFO for A Year of Finishes is this batik quilt and all I had to do was quilt it…..I’m getting there! I have to say that having a quilt frame setup in the living room really gets quilts done! Every time I walk by I think….I’ll just do one row……I am really going through my case of batting!
Last month when I finished my Easy Street quilt I needed 9 yards of backing and found 2 neat turquoise fabrics in a group that looked good at Joanns Fabrics. I used my 50 percent off coupon to buy it. After finishing the quilt I washed and dried it and the feel of the fabric was great.
Last week I did some shopping at Joanns and the same fabrics called Quilters Showcase were all on sale at 50 percent off……making it $2.50 a yard…..so I stocked up! I have to admit though that I am going to start keeping an eye out for wide width backings so I don’t have to have a seam.
We seem to have lots of traffic jams this time of year….especially when the water is high. I always enjoy seeing how fast the baby Canadian Geese grow up.
