Texas Teardrops is done! Don’t you just love all those neat colors on the tan batik background!
I only had enough of the background to make the blocks so I didn’t add a border and then more of the background. My quilt is about 60 x 60…..a perfect size to use on the couch. I used a dark brown batik for the binding and a muslin for the back.
I did a free motion stipple in the background and then stitched around each piece of the teardrops. I may add more quilting to them. I think the center of each would look good quilted. I went ahead and put the binding on.
You can’t really see the quilting on the front so here is a photo of the back. I did get a couple pleats on the back, I think because I was moving around in bigger areas than I usually do. Since this quilt is for us….I left them. Once I wash and dry the quilt I’ll see if I want to add more quilting.
Thanks Vicki at the Quilting Lodge for a great QAL!!
