Teardrops and Barns

I seem to be in the mood to do QALS – I’ve got two going on! I finished stitching the outer piece of the teardrop shape on all my blocks. So what do you think of my background? It is a batik and I’m hoping I like it when I’m done. I wanted something in browns and to be honest…..this piece of batik in my stash was just big enough.

Texas Teardrops QAL

Using my 15-91 vintage Singer and the original foot made it easy to stitch around the pieces. I used a oatmeal Bottom Line thread which blended in well with the pieces.

You can find info on the Texas Teardrops QAL at Quilting Lodge.

I also finished up block 4 of the Quilty Barn Along that Lori from Bee In My Bonnet has going on.

Barn 4 in batiks

I evidently caught a bug while watching the grandchildren and yesterday I did nothing…..didn’t even read a book or walk into my quilt room. I had been up most of the night and slept all day. The good thing was I woke up a little before 6 am this morning and felt pretty good so I have been enjoying time with my sewing machine.

My posts have been a little erratic lately and it is disappointing that so many people have told me that I’m not showing up in their readers. The best way to follow is probably by email or you can try bloglovin’.

I subscribed to the email, because even though you would post, and it should show up at the TOP of my blog list (as new ones are to show up on the top), yours has been way at the bottom, so I have been missing your posts. Hopefully I can keep up to date now. Glad you are feeling better.

Love the teardrops so far Connie. That is a great shade of blue on the background.

Maybe you are just totally wiped out and exhausted from watching the active grandchildren and you'll feel better after a rest. I'll cross my fingers you didn't catch anything.

Looks like you're in a brown and blue mood with your quilting. Both blocks today have both colors. LOL The brown batik fabric looks good with the bright blue.

I don't get your blogs in my blogger dashboard anymore either. Good thing I subscribe via email also. Sure wouldn't want to miss any of your posts.

Whatever you had, I hope it's far, far away now.

Looks great. I like the brown b/g it could be the calming force with all the bright Batik teardrops. Can't wait to see more…

I actually just checked and your last post came through my feedly on March 20th. Did you change your settings? I can't seem to find what could be wrong…

Interesting, yours is one of several blogs that still show up in my dashboard list but I no longer receive your new posts on my google dashboard. It shows your last post as being 3 weeks ago. Even after reloading your blog address, it does the same thing. Good thing I'm also signed up to follow by email. This has happened with several other of my favorite blogs, so I guess I'll need to start paying more attention to the bloglovin feeds. It'll be interesting to see where the Texas teardrops QAL takes you. I do like your batik background a lot!

The blocks are great and I think the background for your tear drop will work well as the appliqué is bright. I am now able to follow you on bloglovin and you are showing up on Blogger so I think the problem is resolving. Hope you feel better soon.

    Hope you feel better soon,

I love the tear drop, did you turn the edges under or is it just raw?
