Thanks so much to Bea for organizing it and also to Electric Quilt Co. for donating some pretty neat giveaways! The hop will run from the 22nd through the 26th so be sure and visit all the blogs listed below.
I couldn’t resist doing a owl in Electric Quilt 7 and of course I had to make up a sample and do some free motion applique and quilting on it.
A good way
to practice drawing shapes is to trace an image. I had a photo of an owl saved
on my computer.
Open EQ7 and
Click WORKTABLE – Work on Block – then Click BLOCK – New Block – PatchDraw Block
size block you want to make
Click BLOCK –
Import Image for Tracing
I choose – Fit image to block size
You can see how EQ7 smooths your shape and then you can go back and edit.
I have included a .PDF file with a couple tips and this info.
You can click here to download Hooty Tips.
Click here to download the .pdf for 8 inch Hooty Owl Applique – no seam allowance, templates in color.
