Vintage Chocolate Table Runner

Straight line quilting, brown, wine, and teal prints make a beautiful vintage looking table runner.
You could easily use a 5-inch charm square pre-cut for this table runner. I had a charm pack that I cut into 2½-inch squares. You normally have 42 squares in a charm pack and after cutting the pieces in half twice, I had 168 – 2½- squares, more than enough to make this table runner.
I made 13 rows of 6 squares but you could make it longer or wider to fit your table.
I just did some straight line quilting on it. I never seem to do this very well which is why I prefer free motion quilting. You can see some little pleats.
When I washed it the quilting looks a little better. I couldn’t resist hanging in on the deck rail with the snow spiral in the background.
Since the sun was out I had to take one last picture of my spiral circle or crop circle. Yesterday we had rain all day and it was gone this morning.
Winter is so beautiful along the Mississippi river here in Iowa. Many times the river is frozen over but today, the blue skies are reflected in the water.
This was my favorite place to sit along the river. Several years later, this tree fell down after we had high water for several months.
