It is time for me to list a couple UFO’s and make myself accountable to at least try and get one of them done.
Darn, I hope you didn’t see that…..I went to hit the add picture button in blogger and…..hit the publish. I deleted it and hope it disappears! Careful with the buttons Connie!!
Okay, back to my unfinished quilts – all of these were started the first year I started quilt blogging and at some point I think I talked about them. This first one is a coin block and I had the brilliant idea to make it a quilt as you go so I quilted all the blocks but I didn’t want a sashing between the blocks. Second brilliant idea was to sew a sashing strip on the back and hand sew it down……I just never seem to sit still long enough to hand stitch but since it is so cold here I decided to pull this out.
This was the VERY first fat quarter bundle I ever bought…..I remember it costing almost $80 and for the longest time I just looked at it….and wouldn’t cut into the beautiful fabrics. I have been sewing and quilting for years and years but there have been breaks, jobs…..lots of things and I remember how amazed I was with fat quarters, charm packs, layer cakes and of course strips.
This should be a easy one to do as it is a crib size quilt…..see the marks from how long it has been folded up!
Last month I listed a bunch of bath runners as my UFO project and the reason I did that? Well, I make this rule for myself…….use up all your batting before opening a new case. All the little pieces were used and yesterday I pulled this box out from behind our bedroom door ( no space in my quilt room for it). The packing slip was still in it and guess when I bought this…..last August. I remember I was running out and waiting for another 50% off sale…..luckily one came up and I bought it early.
Now that I have finally opened it I had better work on some older things. Will I every run out of UFOs????? Never! I continually start new projects all the time.
Yesterday I worked with my purple batiks from Quilting Lodge – I can’t wait to share this with you!
