Thanks to Madame Samm and our fabulous cheerleader Marlene. Special thanks also to Amy Bradley for creating this great pattern for the hop. It has been so much fun to visit everyone’s blogs and see the different ideas people have had.
Now for my turn…..when I first saw the pattern all I could think about was my grandma. The picture really reminded me of her…..not me. So the first thing I did was make “myself” a little thinner and it wouldn’t matter what size I was…..I would never have my grandma’s bust line. The genes for that just didn’t carry over to me. When I was young I always wanted more….now I’m happy with what I have and….no backache!
My hair is blonde (unless the grey roots are showing) and in the summer especially it changes shades constantly depending on how much time I spend down by the river. I know I should wear sunglasses….but I can’t stand them. I HAVE to wear glasses if I want to quilt. I’m not much for embroidery so I used Micron pens to draw my face and a watercolor pencil for my eyes.
It really doesn’t look like me as I usually have my hair pulled back in a pony tail and never wear red lipstick…..or any lipstick….I’m kind of boring.
I had to add a few of my favorite things….crazy quilt, batik quilt and the tiny hexies were actually a gift. Since I can never seem to quilt without at least one cat around I had to add one.
Here is a little practice head I made, I have no idea what I will do with it as I can’t see making a mug rug and having coffee drip all over my face…too funny!
