It is time for a giveaway and also to show you this wall-hanging that I gave you a peek at last week. I’m calling it Floral Sunset as the colors remind me of the beautiful sunsets we have here on the Mississippi river.
Do you remember the beautiful purple batiks that the Quilting Lodge sent me…..
Moda Over the Rainbow Prairie Berry Batik is what I used for the main fabric and binding.
Moda Over the Rainbow Plum Batik was used for the outer flower petals.
HoffmanFabrics Handpaints Hyacinth was used in the border and center flower petal.
Hoffman Batik Punch is the purple that I will use in my other wall hangings.
I had waaay too much fun playing with these beautiful fabrics! I used 3 of them in the wall hanging and…I have 2 more projects to finish that use the rest. I have really been in the mood to applique flowers…..I think I’m getting tired of winter.
I used my 15-91 vintage Singer sewing machine for the free motion applique and stippling. The quilting makes such a difference in the way the piece looks.
I took my photos outside yesterday and you can see the snow on the deck (the first photo was taken on our outside furniture……(cushions are put away until Spring). The back is kind of fun to look at. I would normally use a much smaller dowel but this was all I had on hand.
