Do you ever have a day when you end up working on something that you never, ever planned on? That happened to me today. I have been rearranging my sewing room……again, I won’t be opening the window any time soon so I moved things around and also did a little cleaning….guess what I found?
Yep, this is Regina’s mystery paper piecing. I had 2 parts done and “thought” I had downloaded the directions for the rest so I figured I would finish it up and get another project done. Some how I had missed one part and below you can see what I had when I finished my paper piecing.
Luckily Regina has done this mystery pattern in a pretty neat way. If you missed a part you just have to email her a photo of what you have done. I sent her this photo and she sent me the missing pieces.
I had only tried paper piecing one time before the Bowls with Borders blog hop and didn’t like it at all. Then when I saw Regina’s pattern for the bowls I really, really wanted it so I signed up for the blog hop…..then I stressed on whether I could make it!
It took me SEVERAL times to figure paper piecing out….I know, sometimes I’m a little slow but now….I love it! Mystery blocks/quilts are always a little tough because you aren’t sure what it is going to look like. I really like this pattern and can see making it again in different colors. Oh, another thing, I am going to buy some transfer paper to make it easier to tear off the paper….this pattern has lots of tiny pieces.
If you would like to find out more about the pattern and Regina’s other patterns, visit her website Regina Grewe.
So I put away the pieces of fabric and the pattern and now I just have to decide how I want to quilt this piece.
