Today is the start of the Bowls with Borders blog hop (see schedule below) so guess what I worked on yesterday and I’ll work on today…..it doesn’t look like a bowl……yet.
Are you ready for Bowls with Borders!
My day on the hop isn’t until the end and a couple weeks ago I made a couple bowls so I know I can do it……but I think I forgot everything I learned! I’m embarrassed to admit that the little piece that is done took me an hour……….
- I can forget everything I have learned if I don’t really have the concept down.
- I may be able to freemotion quilt in my sleep but paper-piecing…….
- Try using a long stitch first……saves on using my seam ripper, then stitch again.
- I still love a challenge!
I am thinking that if I can do paper piecing……anybody can do it!
I think I forgot to show you my fancy light box that I bought a couple months ago. I found it at Joann’s in the children’s section. I think it was by Crayola with little car stickers and even a box of colored pencils. Anyway, it was on clearance and on top of that I got to use a coupon so I bought it cheap, the D batteries probably cost more!
I have also been having some fun practicing some freemotion quilting.
I have a huge box of 5 and 6 inch squares that I cut a long time ago…..some are poly/cotton, some are broadcloth….some are actually cotton. I don’t like to waste anything so what I’m going to do with these pieces is make place-mats. We always use them and they will also be fun for my daughter to use with the kids.
