I made a new fall runner that looks pretty good with my Longaberger basket of flowers with perfect fall colors.

I bought another Accuquilt die, this one is the 3″ finished Half Square Triangle which I am really enjoying.

AccuQuilt GO! Die

Half square triangles ( HST’s) are not my favorite thing to cut but this die makes it fast and easy to cut them. I decided to make a couple of pinwheels.

Then I cut the pinwheel into a 5-inch circle and placed it on a square of the same creme fabric. I forgot to take a picture of the circle. I started out with a square of 8.5 inches but trimmed it smaller later.

Creating a circle block

I put a small piece of Warm & Natural batting behind the circle, pinned it, and then did some free motion quilting to attach it to the backing.

Here is a closeup of the stitching……..I really don’t stitch in this direction, I just stopped and turned the piece so you could see the stitching better.

Now I turned it around and showed you the way it is getting stitched.

This is the back after I trimmed the batting, notice I used scraps of batting.

At this point, I still wasn’t sure what I was going to make. I had a couple 2.5″ strips of brown so I cut them in half and sewed a 1.25″ strip between 3 blocks and then around them. Then I added a 3.5″ border of my print.

I used a 100 percent natural color thread to quilt the blocks and then a charcoal Bottom Line for the floral border. My binding was cut 2.5 inches.
The circles have a double layer of batting and puff up just a little.
