We finally had a beautiful weekend and it seemed like everyone in our little town was out and about!

Lots of golf carts and people walking around. I forgot to take my camera when we went visiting….darn it!

I picked up a couple of new huge flower pots and couldn’t resist doing a little planting yesterday. I know that we may still have a chance for frost here in Iowa but I’ll keep an eye on them. I have one on each side of the bench…..Iggy survived the winter and will be in photos again!

Early morning neighbor going by, I tried to get his attention so he would wave but he never noticed me up on the deck. Hi Bill!

Remember when I showed you the mini table topper I made with Holiday Happening from Island Batik? Well here is the table runner made with the same collection. A tutorial is coming soon.

When I was babysitting my grandchildren last week I snapped a photo of the table runner on their new dining room table.

Since I’m showing pictures of the river, I thought you might enjoy this beautiful rainbow that I saw last week. My dad actually saw it first and told me to get my camera out. I barely made it before it disappeared.

Beautiful rainbow

Every time I see something like this I say I need a new camera with a better zoom.

Lovely table runner. And what an amazing photo of the rainbow and your view of the river. I hope you submit that photo to your local newspaper and/or a national magazine. Definitely consider entering it in a photo contest. Lastly, are you aware of http://www.dreamstime.com where you can sell your photos? Seriously, this is a great photo and you have many others that are as good, or better. I think you have a eye for such photos. You definitely have it for color and design of quilts!

  14. Hi Connie,
It looks like things are moving along with your blog now. That’s great. I’ve had a smart phone for a couple of years now and have just begun to take advantage of the fact that I can take photos with it if I don’t have my regular camera.

  15. Isn’t spring wonderful? You have some beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. Your new blog is coming along well too.

  16. You have such a beautiful setting and that rainbow looked like it was exploding. Wow!

I’ve been thinking about what I want to plant in the big pots on my deck this year. Since I’ll be retiring from my full time job in early June and starting a different part time job, maybe I’ll actually be around enough to enjoy that deck and my flowers this summer.

  17. Beautiful pictures of your river. Is it the Mississippi?
