Yesterday I shared my review of the quilt book Uncommonly Corduroy and here is the I Heart Dresdens tote that I made. I just love it!

I really enjoyed making this tote in Uncommonly Corduroy: Quilt Patterns, Bag Patterns, and More
I just grabbed squares from my stash and started putting it together. I really liked the grey background and I also planned on making a red tote……but I didn’t pay attention until my Dresden was together and realized…….I didn’t add any red.
The projects in the book were made with corduroy but I just used the cottons I had on hand. I just happened to have a bunch of this bright lime green so that is the color of my tote. Most of my quilt project decisions are made this way……
The bad side has a huge pocket, I decided to add a little batting to it and then quilt it. I used orange thread.
In most of the photos there isn’t a button on the front because I didn’t have it on yet. Now I do.
For the inside of the bag I used this cute dot, I like a light colored inside. The pattern called for one pocket but I added two.
Are you wondering how big the tote is???? I had Builder Bob snap a picture of me so you could see that it is a nice size. The directions were easy to follow and there were plenty of pictures.
Notice anything different?????? No more grey hair, I tried it for a year and just didn’t like it. The funny thing is….no one but me seems to notice but I’m happier.

Awesome! I have a lot of Dresden plates made…but wasn't sure how I wanted to use them. The traditional quilt settings seemed so boring, thanks for the inspiration!

Love the bag. With blond hair gray is harder to see. Mine, years ago, was brown. Pam started coloring it 15 or 20 years ago. I am almost all white, but only your hairdresser knows!
I love your bag Connie – you picked some wonderful fabrics to make it – the polka dot inside is perfect! And your hair looks great!!! Some people go gray with no problem, but others just don't. I think the blonde suits you 🙂

Love this bag! Your hair color is lovely…wish I could do something about my gray(almost white) hair, but I'm allergic to hair color.
Love your bright colored tote! I just colored my hair today-not for the first time either. Little by little my red is turning white and I just can't let it go, I feel younger with it colored!

Love the bag and the hair. I wish mine would just go entirely gray so I wouldn't have to mess with it but it won't so I'm blonde, too. I think blonde or gray either one looks good on you but I do like the shorter hair cut in your profile photo … I think it makes you look years younger … and don't we all want that? LOL

I love your tote AND your blonde hair! I was blonde for most of my life and a few years ago decided to let it gray naturally. I don't have "gray" as much as "silver". I actually love it, lol. Some people have hated it, but the other day my mom was out with me in the bright sunshine. She said my hair was just shining silver all over, lol. There is still a bit of blonde mixed in and even a tiny bit of white/platinum! My dad had the most GORGEOUS gray hair, that has now turned the most GORGEOUS white hair! Strangers actually stop him on the street (constantly) to comment on his gorgeous hair…and have been doing so since he went gray, lol. Glad I seem to have followed in his footsteps instead of my mom's (although nobody has seen her "real" color in years, lol).

Great bag! I like liter color inside a bag – so you can find things. I think your hair was great both ways, but do like it in the shorter style.
